The Cook provides service to patients, public and co-workers while performing a variety of food production duties such as measuring, mixing, portioning, stirring, braising, baking, roasting, frying, broiling, steaming, grilling and garnishing. Follows the highest sanitation principles in accordance with Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Points standards for food, equipment and self. Keeps all areas clean and sanitary. Provides assistance to all areas of the department as needed. Complies with all HACCP sanitation standards. Reports to the appropriate food service manager.


  • Experience: Two-Three years in a large quantity production kitchen is required.
  • Required Education: None
  • Preferred Education: High School diploma or GED
  • Certifications: None
  • Other: Must be able to communicate clearly orally and in writing. Must be able to comprehend written and oral instructions in order to read recipes, orientation materials, menus, production sheets. etc. Ability to analyze completed products and products in the process of production to determine quality and degree of doneness. Ability to manage time in order to meet deadlines for production. Calculate simple math to expand/decrease recipes.
