The Annual Giving Manager provides direction to a comprehensive annual giving program to secure new and renewed philanthopic support from individuals and selected corporations to advance the mission and to build resources in support of the overall strategic development plan of the Memorial Medical Center Foundation (MMCF). Annual Giving strategies focus on gifts ranging from $1-$9,999 to help build the pipeline for future major gifts opportunities. The Annual Giving Manager is part of a high-performing team that implements a comprehensive development program to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward annual, major, and planned giving donors and prospects for restricted and unrestricted needs of Long Beach Medical Center

 

Essential Job Outcomes & Functions

  • Develops a coordinated matrix of communication and solicitation strategies involving email, direct mail, social media, and personal visitation all focused on shaping a growing donor base and sustainable tradition of annual support. (Gifts under $10,000)
  • Development of strategic plans for donor acquisition, renewal, and reactivation of lapsed donors to build a pipeline of major gift prospects that is in alignment with MMCF's strategic objectives.
  • Manage and execute various annual giving campaigns and appeals: Employee Giving, Fall & Spring Appeals, Friends of the Foundation, Performance in Excellence (PIE), etc.
  • Develop and execute monthly giving/sustainer program.
  • Responsible for developing increasing levels of involvement and support of mid-level annual donors ($1,000 - $5,000) and prospects through regular correspondence and contacts in person, by telephone, or by mail. Provides oversight for and preparation of written materials associated with mid-level donor relationships.
  • Draft donor correspondence including: appeal letters, stewardship reports, and acknowledgement letters.
  • Strengthens and promotes the public image, mission, philosophy and values of the organization with public and private agencies, individuals, corporations and foundations to define the role philanthropy plays in supporting research, and healthcare programs. Ensures the effective communication of organizational vision, mission and values to all constituents.
  • Responsible for tracking and meeting assigned annual budget goals and performance metrics.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
