Meijer is seeking a Software Engineer for our Merchandising Systems development team. This team is building and configuring best in class Merchandising product flow and forecasting technologies; including Blue Yonder Demand & Fulfillment (JDA Manugistics), JDA PMM (Portfolio Merchandise Management) or other Master Data Management solutions. The Software Engineer develops, tests, maintains and enhances business applications as a member of an Agile development team, and works with the entire team to ensure development conforms to acceptance criteria. The Merchandising Software Engineer works with business product owners, developers, and quality analysts to drive value delivery and will participate in all phases of Agile software development.

What You'll be Doing:

  • Codes, tests, and implements programs; develops system documentation according to SAFe Agile principles and industry standards using PL/SQL programming, Shell scripting, .Net development, SQL and ETL tools.

  • Performs unit tests, monitors results, and takes required corrective actions as needed.

  • Assists in the deployment of applications.

  • Optimizes and enhances applications and interfaces to meet SLA/functional requirements.

  • Provides technical consultation in new systems development, new package system evaluations and enhancement of existing systems.

  • Assists product owners in systems analysis and creation or updating of documentation for all business processes.

  • Interfaces with the Product Owner and IT partners to develop acceptance criteria for features and user stories and ensures acceptance criteria are met.

  • Works within the SAFe Agile framework and utilizes ITIL best practices.

  • Participates with other IT members, customers and other stakeholders in new product reviews, tests and pilots.

  • Performs feasibility studies/proofs of concept to evaluate solutions.

  • Participates in structured walkthroughs, secure coding, and technical reviews ensuring application coding and design follows secure coding and design principles.

  • Assists in the production support and maintenance of applications in accordance with ITIL as needed.

  • Actively participates in all team Agile ceremonies.

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's or equivalent.

  • Any SAFe certification or training is preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in systems development and programming in the following technologies (Oracle PL/SQL, .NET, Azure, Any ETL tool)

  • Experience in Blue Yonder Demand and Fulfillment (formerly JDA Manugistics), Blue Yonder PMM highly desirable.

  • Experience working with globally distributed teams.

  • Mentoring and coaching other members of the agile team.

  • Strong knowledge of development tools, coding and scripting languages, SQL and testing.

  • Knowledge and understanding of structured analysis and technical design techniques.

  • Knowledge of database management and file access methods.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong team-oriented interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Knowledge of agile practices in a cross-functional environment preferred.

  • Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs.

  • Ability to provide high level of quality and productivity.
