A key member of the EMEA & APAC CFO team the VP Controller is responsible for:
Accounting: All aspects of the EMEA & APAC accounting and financial close process, group and statutory audits, US GAAP research on technical accounting areas, and hand-off of financial results to external reporting, financial planning and analysis teams and CAO. Given legal requirement across the majority of International jurisdictions the VP Controller is expected to be a Board of Directors member across all major operating legal entities, fulfilling all related fiduciary responsibilities.
Customer Financial Services (CFS): Owns PAY phase of the customer journey in EMEA, responsible for all aspects of Billing, Customer Care, Credit and Collections.
Financial Intelligence: Driving finance transformation through automation and data analytics

Sales Leads - EMEAThe Main Responsibilities
Manage the monthly close process including using technical knowledge, judgment and analytical skills. For example, identifying and resolving complex accounting issues or identifying unusual fluctuations on close conference calls and reviews of the EMEA financial information. In addition, ensure that internal controls are effective particularly around the financial close process and significant estimates and judgements and working closely with SVP Controller throughout.
Ensure compliance with SOX in respect of the general ledger close, monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and both Real Estate and Accounts Payable processes .
Manage the statutory reporting for 100 legal entities in EMEA & APAC. Significant technical knowledge, judgment, and analytical skills are required. For example, there are significant differences from various local GAAP to US GAAP while balancing group policies with local GAAP differences and issues with local auditors.
Board of Director member for a large number of EMEA subsidiaries and to ensure fiduciary duties are carried out to local laws while balancing SEC regulations.
Lead with tax on recapitalising EMEA balance sheets while balancing tax risks, legal risks and accounting issues.
Lead with tax on legal entity consolidation for the EMEA, APAC & India Regions.
Ownership of relationship with external accountants and auditors with an annual professional services budget of $1.4m.
Identify, assess, and lead the evaluation of both Customer Service & Bill fulfilment vision and strategy in EMEA. Developing strong internal, cross-functional and cross region strategic partnership to influence product development, Quote to Bill Migrations & business improvement plans to improve bill accuracy and customer responsiveness and ultimately provide superior customer experience.What We Look For in a Candidate
Strong international financial control and management experience, which includes responsibility for multiple jurisdictions and management of a large group of professional and semi-professional staff.
GAAP technical skills; US GAAP, IFRS and UK GAAP.
Management skills: responsible for a large diverse group with different skill sets and needs.
Interpersonal & Relationship skills; good relationships are essential with internal customers; tax, legal, FP&A, engineering and sales groups and importantly with external groups such as auditors.
Analytical & Judgement Skills; primary point of control for hand off of financial numbers to the CAO and CFO, in-depth understanding of the monthly/quarterly results and ability to identify potential accounting issues, risk areas, errors or omissions on a timely basis.
Project Management Skills: ability to manage significant projects in addition to day-to-day activities
Proficient English written and verbal communication skills. Strong ability to develop productive business relationships with internal & external team members.
Intermediate data management and manipulation skills.
Exceptional ability to work effectively in groups with varying priorities and operational targets. Team player with a passion for service.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work in a fast paced, constantly changing environment.
Telecommunications experience would be advantageous.
