UH: Facilities Management (Full-time, Day Shift) -

The Hospital Service Tech provides preventative and emergency maintenance on patient beds, stretchers, cribs and related patient handling equipment to assure proper function and safety compliance. Performs operational verification, preventive maintenance and corrective repair service, and completes all associated documentation and communication in a timely manner. Responsible for working across departments to coordinate the timely completion of routine and non-routine maintenance, documentation of all activities per the required procedures and process. Performs other duties as assigned.

High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum one year maintenance mechanical experience required.

Overall bed function and operation of each bed make and model. Proficient in all electrical and mechanical components in relation to bed operations. Familiar with alternating currents/direct currents, bed hydraulics and motor operations and detail, proper uses of bed lifts and correct tool usage. Able to clearly communicate with all end users, departments, bed manufactures and accounting. All communication directly impacts patient care. Able to learn and become familiar with all bed makes and models provided. Able to remain current in all bed changes, improvements and ever increasing bed technology. To make correct decisions per bed repairs with minimal to little impact to all provided patient care. Able to maintain stock inventory of beds per increase of patient load or in case of an emergent situation and being able to accommodate all patient needs accordingly. Able to maintain a positive attitude, always approachable and able to adjust per patient needs and adjusting to changes within the organization.
