Our core values are compassion, integrity, excellence, teamwork and wholeness.The Chaplain 1 performs general Chaplain responsibilities in harmony with the mission of the Medical Center. Provides counseling, comfort and advice on problems and questions concerning spiritual guidance. Conducts religious services and chapel functions for patients, families and employees. Participates and conducts community educational programs. The Chaplain's ministry encourages the wholeness of the patient and is an integral part of the total healing team. Performs other duties as needed.
Master's Degree in Theology, Divinity, Clinical Ministry, Chaplaincy or related field required. Four units of CPE required. Minimum one year Church Ministry or related field experience required. Minimum two years of Pastoral experience or Memorandum of Understanding and Agreement (MOUA) from Adventist Chaplaincy Ministries preferred. Ordination and Ecclesiastical Endorsement from an official Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) accrediting body preferred. Ministerial credential, commissioned ministerial credential, or ministerial license preferred. Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) ministerial license or credential required if considered by the church a Spiritual Leader. Valid Driver's License required at time of hire. Professional knowledge of theological and medial ethical issues required.
Able to use a computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position. Able to work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction. Able to think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
