Distribution Center Team

 JOB INFORMATION


 Job Scope

The Distribution Center Manager for eCommerce will work together with the retail store Distribution Center Manager. The eCommerce DC manager is responsible for the overall performance of the warehouse related to eCommerce production and performance. The DC Manager plans, organizes', staffs, directs, and controls all warehouse and transportation activities related to eCommerce. The selection, professional development, and motivation of all team members are key responsibilities! The DC Manager assists top management in establishing warehouse performance objectives and strategic planning for eCommerce.


 Day-to-Day

  • Communication- Interact with top management, corporate staff and employees
  • Operations- Ensure the development of systems and procedures for operating and managing physical facilities, human resources, equipment, and products in a cost-effective manner.
  • Labor Management- Provide Human Resources with appropriate hiring information, performance evaluations, wage increases, and terminations.
  • Customer Service-Assist in the establishment of service standards for all customers and communicate these standards to all personnel.
  • Budgeting- Develop and recommend an annual operating budget
  • Equipment & Facilities- Procure equipment and facilities required assuring efficient operation and meeting company goals.
  • Reporting- Ensure that all records and reports regarding warehouse and transportation activity are prepared on a timely basis and effectively maintained.


Qualification

The Distribution Center Manager for eCommerce requires experience in warehousing and logistics management, as well as general supervisory experience.

  • Familiarity with personal computers and material handling equipment is required.
  • Skills in planning, staffing, budgeting, organizing, controlling, and communicating are required.
  • The ability to develop effective relationships, provide leadership and integrate diverse organizations and individuals toward common objectives is critical.
  • Education – College degree is preferred.
  • Experience – Five to seven years of experience in eCommerce logistics is preferred, with one to three years in a similar position.
