Summary

The Senior Manager of Workforce Management (WFM) is responsible for developing and implementing tactical and strategic WFM processes for King's Hawaiian. Coordinates efforts between Sales, Operations, and People Teams to support the global use of King's Hawaiian workforce management strategy, when developed to effectively reach desired staffing levels.  

Responsibilities
  • Tactical and Strategic WFM Support

        • Responsibility for short- & long-term labor management, volume forecasting for accurate budget tracking, and monthly variable labor forecasting.  Coordinating with Talent Acquisition and Learning Teams to ensure resource availability once financial impacts are realized.

        • Implements scheduling strategies and initiatives to enable the business to achieve plant staffing goals while communicating the goals to the cross-functional support teams.  Establish metrics for success and work with the team to achieve goals.

        • Develop and maintain plant capacity models that will be utilized by King's Hawaiian leadership in determining the placement of new lines or resource-sharing opportunities.

        • Escalates staffing issues and identifies root causes, partnering with internal stakeholders to identify staffing solutions and managing through staffing shortages/surpluses.

        • Complete ad hoc labor analysis to determine appropriate staffing levels and scheduling models for process enhancements that enhance efficiency and balance with the employee experience.

        • Responsible for tracking budgets and partnering with the Finance and Operations Managers on monthly variable labor forecasting and annual budget spending.

        • Lead monthly forecasting meetings with Operations Managers and People Team.

        • Oversee the scheduling and real-time management functions for the assigned region. 

          • Ensure optimal schedules to meet production goals while balancing employee satisfaction.

          • Deliver metrics at a monthly, weekly, daily, and intraday level for all WFM managed lines as evaluated by need and scope.

          • Works with third-party staffing agencies to share headcount needed and ensure delivery of headcount needed by the firm.

        • Maintain detailed records of volume, planned and unplanned absenteeism, LOA, and other staffing impacts for future forecasting accuracy.

  • Data Analytics/Reporting

  • Responsible for reviewing and evaluating operating metrics, identifying trends, recognizing opportunities for improvement, and recommending changes based on results from analysis performed.  Provide leaders with hypotheses and recommendations related to the findings in the data.

  • Review and provide input to business cases for staffing or process changes.  As changes are implemented you will track the impacts of the change to determine the success and/or impacts on staffing and costs.

  • Miscellaneous

    • Coordination and relationship management of key internal and external stakeholders, cross-functional department heads, consultants, and other support partners as identified.

    • Work on activities and/or projects as requested by Site Leadership or Executive Leadership.

Ability to interface with all levels of management within King's Hawaiian

Assist in planning and leading WFM-related projects utilizing a consistent project management method.

Skills/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, computer science, or related field/ or equivalent work-related experience.

  • 3+ years of WFM experience in the capacity of management, operations, or forecasting responsibility, in the manufacturing industry is a plus.

  • Must have experience in planning for and managing daily staffing goals while developing and implementing strategic initiatives along with metric measurement components.

  • Project Management experience preferred.

  • Leadership skills in establishing effective working relationships and producing desired outcomes in a multi-level organization.

  • Excellent presentation skills with a strong ability to present both qualitative and quantitative information in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner to all levels of the organization.

  • Intermediate or advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. 

  • Manufacturing planning experience preferred, not required

  • Strength in working on self-managed projects in conjunction with other departments.
