Automotive Test Technician - Chassis at Nissan Automotive
We are currently seeking a self-motivated individual seeking a challenging opportunity to test automotive chassis at the Nissan Automotive Technical Center in Farmington Hills, MI. This is a long-term, very stable contract position on day shift.
- Setup test stands and fixtures to support chassis and suspension testing.
- Instrumentation of test components, strain gages, load cells, force gages, LVDTs etc.
- Setup and perform chassis tests on prototype frames, bodies, and full vehicles.
- Removal and replacement of prototype vehicle components as required to conduct testing
- Support other testing groups as needed. Acquire data, provide preliminary review, and discuss with Engineering team.
- Associate degree in automotive or technology related field preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years related testing experience accepted.
- Automotive mechanical skills required and automotive testing experience
- Basic vehicle knowledge and chassis component testing experience
- Experience with servo hydraulic systems, load cells, strain gauges, LVDT
- Experience with data acquisition is a plus
- Machine shop experience, welding, fabrication- a plus
- Excellent critical thinking, and communication skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn new tasks required
- Relatively clean driving record
