Division Overview Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Position Overview

The Field Application Engineer will be working alongside the Hubbell and Aclara accounts owners to drive bookings and revenue opportunities associated with Hubbell Distribution Automation offerings to all markets and account types within the assigned geography. The assigned geography for this role includes the Northeast US & Canada. This individual must possess the ability to convey the value of Hubbell DA solutions on their own and as part of a broader sell with the inclusion of other Hubbell/Aclara products and services.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Promote Hubbell Distribution Automation solutions within the assigned region(s)
  • Develop sales plans and assist in maintaining a robust pipeline of new business
  • Work as a liaison between engineering, manufacturing, and sales
  • Provide field support and troubleshooting when needed
  • Assist in preparation of technical publications and review technical information and illustrations
  • Review customer product specifications and maintain up-to-date file in customer files
  • Aid in organization and presentation of material for seminars, industry meetings, and trade shows
  • Provide application-specific product recommendations to customers
  • Influence customer specifications
  • Provide competitive information and customer VOC to internal departments and outside sales force as required
Skills and Experience
  • Experience solution selling – preferably in an electrical, control, power distribution sales setting
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree, preferably in a technology-related field.
  • Highly driven and results-focused
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Knowledge of Sales CRM reporting system – ie. Salesforce
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
  • Ability to travel on business-related trips up to 60% of the time
  • Personable and willing to work in a team atmosphere
Education Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering General Relevant Industries
