Position Overview

Responsible for marketing and sales actions and increasing the sales and profitability of Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems, Bryant Electric, and Hubbell Premise Wiring (WBP) products of identified Strategic Distribution and Alternate Channel accounts (examples: Amazon, Automationdirect, Fastenal, Grainger, HDPro, HD Supply, MSC, McMaster-Carr, Zoro, etc.). Responsible for the development of relationships with key decision makers at these strategic alternate channels distributors, as well as independent sales representatives (agencies) representing Hubbell business concerns with these accounts. Responsible for brand leadership, management and expansion through the development and implementation of marketing and sales plans, E-Commerce strategies, business analysis, training and communications, joint sales plans, and overall management of distributor programs. Reports to the Director of Marketing, with dotted line responsibility to the VP Distributor Marketing and VP Sales.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Increases sales and profitability of Strategic Distribution and Alternate Channels and End-Users:
o Develops comprehensive sales & marketing programs, strategic plans, objectives, actions
o Supports and implements distributor specific sales and marketing programs
o Manages distributor incentive programs and advertising opportunities to drive sales
• Communicates and implements marketing and sales programs at Strategic Distribution and Alternate Channels to achieve corporate sales and margin objectives:
o Communicates and implements new product launches and conducts product gap analysis
o Manages part activation process and procedures with distribution
o Conducts pricing negotiation and change management with Distribution and end-users
• Coordinates internal development, and supports external marketing activities:
o Develop marketing materials to promote core products & vertical markets
o Develop tailored sales campaigns utilizing email blasts, telemarketing, web advertising
o Develop enhanced online marketing content to promote digital product representation
• Expands contacts to include middle and upper-tier management at all Strategic Distribution and Alternate Channel accounts, and independent sales representatives:
o Conducts regular sales & marketing updates; strategic updates and planning with all Strategic Distribution and Alternate Channel accounts, and independent sales representatives:
o Participates in national, strategic account, and pillars of growth planning & training
o Develops sales & marketing opportunities through distributor contact engagement
o Develops plans to improve customer relationships, and involvement in strategic areas
• Develops and conducts brand, vertical market and product training:
o Develop and conduct new sales person and account management training
o Coordinates and supports national distributor employee and customer trade shows
o Develops inside sales trainings to support sales programs and campaigns
• Communicates issues and opportunities to Senior Management; Reports regularly on plan progress, program success, competitive activity and market pricing; Coordinates and holds regular upper management meeting for strategic planning and relationship development
• Supports multi-brand aspects of all job functions as called upon to leverage experience and relationships to drive Hubbell sales
• Identifies and guides the addition of Strategic Distribution and Alternate Channel accounts including digital commerce and web marketplace-based distributors

Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required with a minimum of 5-8 years electrical industry experience; degree in in Business, Marketing, Industrial Distributor Management, or related field preferred
  • Experience managing electrical distribution, national/strategic accounts, product/project management, marketing and/or sales; experience managing people a plus
  • Core competencies should include team leadership, customer focus, results driven initiative, strategic thinking and public speaking
  • Candidate should be proficient in their computer literacy and proficient on the use of MS Products (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Teams, etc…); knowledge of SAP a plus
Education Bachelors Degree in Marketing or Business
