OVERVIEW: The Accounts Receivable Collector has responsibility for all aspects of customer accounts with the exception of cash application and order entry. Also responsible for assisting and guiding lower level accounts receivable representatives as needed and coordinating discussions with other departments. This role will be part of the Accounts Receivable Department, reporting to the Accounts Receivable Manager. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reviews and monitors delinquent accounts as assigned making daily contacts with customers by appropriate method (phone, email, fax, etc.) Fulfills customer requests for copies of financial transactions and statements Mediates between customer and internal Gates' departments such as Customer Service, Marketing, Distribution and others as required Provides various monthly reporting of collections activity of assigned accounts as determined by management Process orders that are placed on Credit Hold by ERP system Other tasks and duties as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position functions as an individual contributor with no supervisory responsibilities.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate's Degree or Related Work Experience required
  • Minimum of 5 years general and/or 2 years specific experience in Accounts Receivable required
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Knowledge and understanding of accounts receivable transaction process flows
  • Prior experience in a high volume portfolio management
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Self-motivator with strong deductive reasoning and reconciliation skills
  • Strong written and oral interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office with emphasis on Microsoft Excel and Access Database skills
  • Prior experience with ERP systems
  • Ability to adapt and learn new technologies and organizational changes quickly
  • Team player who is able to proactively step in to support other team members as needed
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
