We are searching for a B Shift (3p-11p) Maintenance Mechanic who is responsible for repairs and maintenance to all aspects of the Tampa Campus building and grounds. Starting pay $27.90 per hour plus shift differential.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
SUMMARY: Inspects and repairs materials, products, and components for conformance to specifications by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: other duties may be assigned.
Detect and report faulty operation, defective material and equipment and other unusual conditions to teammates and appropriate personnel.
Collaborate with appropriate personnel to transmit and exchange information pertinent to work related activities.
Responsible for operation of machines in compliance with Standard Operating Procedure.
Must keep accurate operational records as directed.
Inspects product to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Read blue prints, manuals, and written procedural instructions.
Use hand tools, power tools and shop equipment.
Work on pipe systems, which would involve repairing, modifying and installing systems.
Perform all phases of welding including MIG, TIC and Rod.
Use cutting torch and bronze with a torch.
Perform millwright work such as aligning a pump and motor with dial indicator, install sheaves, belts, align equipment, check for squareness, and belt tension.
Install bearings and be able to perform all maintenance work required on bearings.
Meets all physical demands of the position as more fully described below.
Works scheduled shifts and overtime as assigned.
Performs all work in safe, efficient manner and follows all safety procedures.
Maintains work area in neat and orderly condition.
Must be available to cover on call hour, including weekends and Holidays.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED); and two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to read and interpret metal rule.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed involved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few physical variables in everyday situations.
