Physician Relationship Manager

Education:

Bachelor's preferred in Healthcare or Business

Essential Functions -

Facilitates Planning and Communication with the assigned practice leadership team

  • Works with the Regional Director, Practice Manager, and Physician leaders in developing and maintaining the plan in alignment with the strategies and goals of the assigned practice.
  • Develops and maintains comprehensive understanding of healthcare trends, physician issues and requirements, insurance/payer trends and status, and physician integration and patient referral processes across all practices assigned.
  • Serves as the principle account manager / liaison between the assigned practices and non-employed referring healthcare providers.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert for the practice referral processes. Maintains knowledge of the development of new programs, services, and by shadowing leadership and respective service line leaders. Coordinates and oversees clinical education with leadership team for referring healthcare providers in the geographically assigned territory.
  • Provides core messaging and education for the assigned practice and communicates referring physician operational or access issues; collaborates on issue resolution and communication back to the referring physician.
  • Works with leadership and physicians on best practices in follow-up/communication with referring physicians.
  • Participate and present at leadership meetings as scheduled by the director.
  • Collaborates with FMC Public Relations to highlight our physicians in media and publications.

Conducts Analysis to Develop Target Lists; Develops and Maintains Strategic Account Management Plans.

  • Oversees collaboration with physicians to schedule meetings with the referring physicians to ensure a coordinated approach to developing the relationships.
  • Obtains and analyzes relevant and timely internal referral and external claims data to prioritize targeted physician groups in accordance with the overall strategy of the practices.
  • Develops and executes account management plans for high potential referral groups; communicates plans to all involved (ROD, PM, and Physicians) and follows through to coordinate and execute plans.

Conducts Effective Relationship Management Meetings

  • Conducts pre-call planning for practice visits to define objectives, plans discovery questions, anticipates objections, and prepares an effective approach.
  • Coordinates the schedules of physicians to prevent schedule conflicts and meeting cancelations.
  • Educates referring physician practices on relevant clinical services offered.
  • Implements a consultative approach to probe for needs of the referring provider, such as receiving consult notes timely, ease of referral process, scheduling urgent consultations.
  • Effectively communicates the competitive differentiation of the FPS practice.
  • Educates referring office staff on process to refer patients and obtain patient records/consultation summary.
