Job Description:

The Team

The SS&C team builds and runs the Incentive Compensation Management Platform (ICMP) for Fidelity's Personal Investing (PI) group. We directly support more than 12k PI associates, ensuring that variable compensation is correctly calculated, paid, & reported.

Our team is comprised of technology squads based in North Carolina, New Hampshire, & Bangalore. Our platform consists of multiple back-end internal capabilities integrated with CallidusCloud for compensation & reporting.

The Principal Software Engineer role is a fit for a highly experienced full-stack engineer, comfortable working across many technologies and able to drive architectural decisions.  A Principal Software Engineer plays the lead engineering role on a squad of around 8 people.

The Value you Deliver

  • Designing & implementing the SSC platform modernization strategy

  • Mentoring and leading other engineers on the squad and wider SS&C team

  • Hands-on development & expertise across middle-tier, back-end and cloud

  • Platform support across the e2e SSC platform

The Expertise You Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent

  • Hands on experience as a software engineer

  • Demonstrated experience as a technical lead responsible for designing & implementing complex solutions

  • Highly proficient coding in Java

  • RESTful Web service development

  • Hands on AWS experience

  • Solid relational database experience, ideally with Oracle PL SQL

  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences

  • CI/CD & container experience: Jenkins, Udeploy, Docker

  • Architectural acumen and the ability to help define and drive a technical roadmap

The Skills You Bring

  • Preferred skills:

    • AWS Certification

    • Rules development using Drools, IBM ODM, or equivalent

    • Expertise with data modeling

    • Experience with variable compensation systems and domain

    • Data streaming using Kafka or similar

    • CallidusCloud

    • CI/CD & container experience: Jenkins, Udeploy, Docker
