The Team

Performance Delivery Managers design and improve operating and management systems with agile domains and business functions using leading practices and solutions to achieve our partner's strategic objectives. Performance Delivery identifies and executes these opportunities by building partnerships, connecting improvement opportunities to strategic business objectives, applying sound business management and quality principles to drive improvements, and ensuring that the change is sustainable.

The Performance Delivery (PD) team is chartered with driving improved business performance within Fidelity Investments Workplace Investing (WI) business unit. We partner with business leaders to not only shape their strategy but also lead our most important initiatives to improve operational performance. Our goal is to generate significant value through increased customer happiness, cost efficiencies, risk reduction, and quality improvement.

The Expertise You Have

  • Four or more years of business design, redesign, and/or improvement experience

  • Proven success leading business improvement projects

  • Financial services or benefits outsourcing industries experience is a plus

  • Knowledge of core operations management concepts (Six Sigma, Transactional Lean, and Quality Management experience a plus)

  • Technical acumen that would be advantageous in this role includes:

    • Knowledge of application development and deployment lifecycle to appropriately scope and time deliverables

    • Experience scanning for and applying third party software solutions to tackle business problems (e.g., business process automation, natural language processing, data wrangling, web applications, and APIs)

    • History accessing data from multiple sources to deliver valuable insight

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal/written)

  • Curiosity to learn and uncover the root of ambiguous and complex business and situations through respectful questioning, research, and investigation

  • Ability to organize, condition, qualify, and use data to drive automation, enable teams, identify trends, and present relevant insights

  • Process design, redesign, and improvement experience including evaluating current state, assessing customer needs, and using customer journey and persona insights

  • Comfort communicating recommendations and creative/innovative solutions that may challenge conventional wisdom

  • Capability to execute in an Agile environment, selectively creating and executing to the backlog of Agile teams, as well as experience with Agile routines, tools and collaboration with fellow Agile team members and leaders

  • Ability to partner across the organization and interact effectively at all levels of management and peers through personal interactions as well as the creation and delivery of effective presentations

  • Agility in adapting to new and changing business areas and taking initiative to drive projects forward and deliver value in a cross-functional working environment

  • Strong business value analysis and financial modeling skills including experience in areas such as cost analysis, value frameworks, data analysis, critical thinking, excel modeling, or data flows

  • Proven experience organizing work and leading projects to deliver value using agile and traditional methodologies

  • Experience crafting management systems along with governance routines, controls, key performance indicators, and other instrumentation needed to efficiently run our business

  • Change leadership experience that includes making the case for change, defining success, building capabilities, and influencing others (business case development a plus)

  • Ability to identify the technical capabilities needed to design, re-design, or improve a process and propose solutions through research, comparison, and testing of possible options

  • PD Managers are involved strategically and tactically throughout the life of a project from idea generation through full execution for small to medium complexity projects
