The Team

Performance Delivery Directors design and improve operating and management systems with agile domains and business functions using leading practices and solutions to achieve our partner's strategic objectives. Performance Delivery identifies and executes these opportunities by building partnerships, connecting improvement opportunities to strategic business objectives, applying sound business management and quality principles to drive improvements, and ensuring that the change is sustainable.

The Performance Delivery (PD) team is chartered with driving improved business performance within Fidelity Investments Workplace Investing (WI) business unit. We partner with business leaders to not only craft their strategy but also lead our most important initiatives to improve operational performance. Our goal is to generate significant value through increased customer happiness, cost efficiencies, risk reduction, and quality improvement.

The Expertise You Have

  • Seven years or more of business design, redesign, or improvement experience

  • Proven success at leading and delivering results for ground-breaking projects that drive strategic change and growth

  • Financial services or benefits outsourcing industry experience is preferred

  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA a plus

  • Advanced knowledge of core operations management concepts (Six Sigma, Transactional Lean, and Quality Management experience a plus)

  • Practical technical acuity as indicated by the following knowledge and experience would be helpful:

    • Knowledge of application development and deployment lifecycle to appropriately scope and time impact

    • Experience scanning for and applying third party software solutions to tackle business problems (e.g., business process automation, natural language processing, data solutions, web applications, etc.)

    • Experience delivering solutions to data-based problems (e.g., data sourcing, transformation, integration, etc.)

  • Strong communication skills (verbal/written) and experience facilitating large, cross-functional design or strategic working sessions including issue, option, and resolution framing

  • Agility in adapting to new and changing business areas and taking initiative to drive projects forward in a sophisticated, cross-functional working environment

  • Ability to partner across the organization to influence all levels of management and peers through personal interactions as well as the creation and delivery of effective presentations

  • Ability to propose business-oriented digital capabilities needed to design, re-design, or improve a process after partnering with technical specialists to research, compare, and test potential options

  • Drive automation and unlock business insights through data-based problem solving and decision-making

  • Curiosity to learn and uncover the root of exciting and often ambiguous business situations through respectful questioning, research, and investigation

  • Strong business value analysis and financial modeling skills including experience in areas such as cost analysis, value frameworks, data analysis, critical thinking, modeling, or data flows

  • Validated experience leading projects or programs and coordinating teams to deliver value using agile and traditional methodologies

  • Advanced process design, redesign, and improvement experience including evaluating current state, assessing customer needs, and using customer journey and persona insights

  • Experience implementing sustainable change by making the case for change, defining success, building capabilities, and influencing others

  • Experience crafting management systems along with governance routines, controls, key performance indicators, and other instrumentation needed to optimize business routines

  • Comfort in communicating unbiased recommendations and creative/innovative solutions to senior leaders that may challenge conventional wisdom

  • Lead and mentor business teams to identify challenges, understand current state, develop future state solutions, and execute on the most impactful changes.

  • PD Directors are involved strategically and tactically throughout the life of a project from idea generation through full execution for medium to high complexity projects

  • Research, test, and develop standard methodologies for Performance Delivery associates to use as they approach business challenges and deliver value across our organization
