If you are a Senior Test Engineer looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Eden Prairie, MN, location, the Senior Test Engineer in the Plantweb Technology Test team is responsible for system integration testing of Emerson devices on non- Emerson hosts. This role reports to Manager, Plantweb Technology Test Services.
AS SENIOR TEST ENGINEER, YOU WILL:
- Perform System Integration testing of Emerson field devices with several DCS Host systems
- Design test cases, develop test scripts and configurations, run tests, evaluate test results, and work with development/test teams to resolve test findings
- Build test setups using non-Emerson host systems and Emerson devices, and other electrical apparatus needed
- Testing scope covers both software implementation and system usability

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Petroleum Engineering or a related Engineering degree
- At least one year of experience with programmable logic control/distributed control systems: i.e. process control, hands-on instrumentation work
- Three (3) years of engineering work experience
- One (1) year of experience with an industrial protocol: i.e. HART, Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus, 4-20mA systems, OPC-UA, and/or Modbus TCP/RTU
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Experience performing Installation, Commissioning & Startup of DCS Control Systems
- Electrical Engineer with computer science background
- DCS Host experience
- Hands-on experience with electrical test equipment: i.e. mulitmeter, oscilloscope, etc.
- Experience working with low power DC system (0-24 vdc)
- Experience with soldering equipment, and electrical wiring tools
