If you are a Software Engineering professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  You will develop, implement, and provide day-to-day support for industrial control and analytics applications.  The successful candidate will work as an integral part of a team that is responsible for the design, coding, debugging, maintenance, and support of new products and applications for the Ovation control and information system.


This role has the flexibility of a remote work option up to three days a week.  Our teams work together to ensure our chosen work schedules enable our creativity and productivity as we serve the needs of our customers. This person could potentially be based in many areas including our Pittsburgh, Austin, Houston or Minneapolis area locations.


  • Design, implement, code, and debug software for our next generation of industrial control and analytics applications
  • Support enhancements and extensions to established products
  • Collaborate with and influence product development colleagues, validation testers, and technical writers
  • Provide support to local and on-site field personnel and technical support staff to troubleshoot and resolve issues that occur at customer sites and on our factory test floor


You model collaboration across the organization. You scan the environment for new technical skills, knowledge, or capabilities that can benefit business or personal performance.  You quickly and decisively take actions in fact-changing, unpredictable situations.


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of software development experience
  • Experience developing interactive and responsive web applications
  • Experience with front end frameworks
  • Experience developing RESTful web services
  • Strong problem solving skills (including use of algorithms and data structures)
  • Experience with “Big Data” databases
  • Experience with HTTP servers
  • Familiar with platform independent tools and libraries, IDEs, full-lifecycle projects, development methodologies, and source code control


  • Experience with technologies, such as jQuery, AJAX, JavaScript, HTML, and TypeScript
  • Experience with Angular
  • Experience with Java or JAX-RS (Jersey and Jetty experience are a plus)
  • Experience with MongoDB
  • Experience with nginx
  • Experience with development of analytics applications and/or data streaming technologies is a plus
  • Dashboard development experience with Power BI or Tableau is a plus
  • Experience with Azure or AWS cloud application development is a plus
  • Experience with automated unit testing
