Based in our Kennesaw, GA location, you will be a technical leader, responsible for designing and developing low level drivers and kernel modules used in the creation of platform-based products used at a store level for command and control. Contributes to full product life cycle for platforms written in C/C++ and Python. These products support a variety of functions for control and monitoring as well as normalizing data propagated to the cloud to facilitate regionalized actions for the cold chain. Work is completed in an Agile development framework.
AS A SENIOR LEAD ENGINEER, YOU WILL:
- Develop within sprints, contribute to capacity planning and retrospectives with technical leads.
- Work with internal and external groups such as product management, technical and field support to analyze the needs and align product deliverables to strategic goals and platform directives
- Guide Platforming efforts and align with code, library and component reuse where applicable
- Design, develop or deploy low level drivers and kernel modules for board bring up and validation.
- Develop and maintain low level (boot, drivers, kernel) component within strong embedded constraints for security, processing and memory footprints.
- Demonstrate good English language skills both written and verbal

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
- 10+ years low level Linux component development (boot, drivers, etc.)
- 7+ years Embedded Software design and development in C/C++ with an emphasis on Linux (Debian, Ubuntu) for ARM (NXP IMX8, ATMEL, STM32) and X86 processors
- 3+ years' experience with Yocto and board level support
- Full project life-cycle experience
- Experience with Agile development methodologies; Kanban or SCRUM
- Legal work authorization in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this position
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- Master's in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Good working knowledge of communications protocols; TCP/IP, MODBUS, BACnet.
- Good working knowledge of Linux containers (LXC, Docker) and management tools (Salt)
- HVAC/R industry experience.
