If you are an ENGINEERING professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our SIDNEY, OH location, you will plan and direct activities concerned with the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products by performing the essential duties. Identify and pursue improvement opportunities in our gaging and machining processes.
This position will expand to include supervision of quality support team members. Leadership responsibilities will be in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include developing and training employees in quality-related standards and practices, planning, correcting, and directing work.
The Quality Engineer will coordinate new product development activities for customers both externally and internally.
AS A QUALITY ENGINEER, YOU WILL:
- Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
- Devise sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
- Establish a program to evaluate the precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.
- Develop and implement methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.
- Direct team members engaged in measuring and testing products and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.
- Compile and write training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities.

You readily distinguish between what's relevant and what's unimportant to make sense of complex situations. REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university plus one (1) year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with continuous improvement theories, concepts, or application
- Ability to travel up to 5% for the role.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Bachelor's degree in related field with two (2) years or more experience in a relative role or position
- Managing and developing direct reports
- Statistic and probability proficiency

About our Location
The newly renovated Sidney campus has 1M square feet of manufacturing floor with an additional 120k square feet of leading-edge lab facilities. This location is the headquarters for the air conditioning and cold chain businesses. Through our 30 years of scroll compressor expertise, our air conditioning related products help bring comfort and convenience in commercial, industrial and residential spaces. The cold chain business helps ensure that food safely and efficiently travels from farm to fork. Approximately 1600 employees work in Sidney, who all support a multitude of business functions. With the blend of businesses and functions represented under this one roof, there are many opportunities for advancement within the Sidney location.
