If you are an Accounting and Finance professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our Rushville, IN location, you will perform a variety of financial activities in a manufacturing facility, including analysis and interpretation of financial data. The position reports to the Controller and is responsible for weekly and monthly financial reporting, forecasts, budget preparation, inventory reconciliation and other financial data required to meet corporate objectives. You will be responsible for MRO purchases and payroll. You will serve as the facility's financial representative in the absence of the Plant Controller. 


  • Perform weekly and monthly financial close 
  • Prepare and enter monthly journal entries 
  • Prepare annual budgets and monthly forecasts including budget to actual variance analysis 
  • Complete monthly inventory reconciliations and research and correct variances 
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis of financial data for the purpose of operational decisions 
  • Prepare various monthly, quarterly, and annual reports required for Corporate compliance 
  • Perform weekly payroll review, enter adjustments/corrections and sign-off for processing
  • Perform MRO Buyer responsibilities including purchase order and invoice processing


You establish and maintain effective customer relationships and partner with others to get things done. You facilitate breakthroughs by integrating diverse views and finding common ground or acceptable alternatives.  You provide timely and helpful information to individuals across the organization, following through on commitments and ensuring others do the same.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting plus previous co-op or internship experience preferred 
  • The candidate should possess knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel at an intermediate or advanced level
  • Must be creative, have strong analytical and communication skills, and be able to work independently
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship for this role will not be provided. 

  • MBA in Finance 
  • 2 or more years in Manufacturing Accounting
  • Previous experience with Oracle Finance Software 
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment with exposure to cost accounting

This role has the flexibility of a core hour schedule. You can choose to flex your start and stop times given you are working during the core hours of 9:00am - 3:00pm. About our Location
Rushville, IN: The 2-building campus offers a safe and clean work environment with a “family” atmosphere. The Rushville facilities are part of the Emerson Commercial Residential Solutions Division. We manufacture new semi-hermetic compressors and take the worn-out, failed compressors out of the field and remanufacture them to like new status, as well as manufacture crank shafts. Approximately 200 employees work in Rushville and are an integral part of our organization. A 2-building campus allows for learning and growth opportunities for all our team.
