The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer will be the point person for projects relating to researching, developing, evaluating, and improving the White-Rodgers manufacturing process. Collaboration is vital in the creation of new process technology, improving product designs and materials to support production goals, safety, quality, cost, and delivery. You will act as the process “subject matter expert” for White Rodgers facilities and suppliers. The ideal candidate values continuous improvement and is comfortable working with ambiguity. Experience in project management and working knowledge in PCB, electronics, and/or robotics assembly or testing is required.


Additional Information
Position requires 15-20% domestic and international travel.

Responsibilities
  • Develop PCB manufacturing and testing processes for new product development/introduction, capacity growth, and efficiency improvements
  • Lead project team activities; team may include manufacturing engineering functions only or cross-functionally to include members from product planning, procurement, quality, operations, and suppliers
  • Partner with product engineering and global manufacturing plants to develop and launch new processes
  • Justify project costs to estimate labor savings through financial analysis
  • Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve current process issues related to tooling, materials, process and gages
  • Continually improve process capability (Cpk) and process efficiency or OEE while supporting quality, cost, delivery, and safety
  • Use LEAN production principles to create or improve material flow
  • Utilize lean, Six Sigma, DOE principles during improvement activities
  • Develop, maintain, and standardize process documentation
  • Manage activities/assignments for and develop skills of process engineering staff
  • Create presentations and update management staff on project status
  • Continually seek new technology opportunities

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering field (Electrical Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years' experience as a PCB process/manufacturing engineer
  • Experience with high volume manufacturing process
  • Experience in electronics testing methodology
  • Skills in 3D modeling or AutoCAD
  • Track record in establishing financial justification of projects, including presentation of business case and analysis to leadership
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to establish framework and systems for managing areas of responsibility as it relates to project planning
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office programs
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate level education
  • Project Manager certification (i.e. PMP, CAPM, etc.)
  • Certified in Lean and/or Six Sigma
  • Knowledge of ISO9001/14001
  • Experience with LabWindows / LabVIEW
  • Society/Trade involvement related to assigned process(es)
  • Fluency in Spanish
