The primary responsibilities of a Process Analyst are to identify inefficiencies in a business's operations, provide recommendations to consolidate and alter existing methods or establish new ones to limit or eliminate the identified issues. The role involves “thinking processes” in which to draw inferences from process details and links these inferences to the big picture by considering business objectives in identifying process improvements. The Process Analyst will work closely with the Operations team to analyze every level of system process design and orientation within the distribution model.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reviews and examines business processes and systems, model data, organize activities and develop business strategies using a variety of information, data and organizational resources.

  • Works with the Operations team and other functional areas to design new processes and solve process related problems.

  • Acts as a liaison between Operations and other functional areas by:

    • Opening and maintaining lines of communication to monitor and improve business efficiencies.

    • Makes recommendations for departmental enhancements.

  • Improves productivity by performing observations, evaluations, and simulations of overall operational processes.

  • Participates in root cause analysis in order to recommend enhancements or other appropriate actions to improve productivity.

  • Makes recommendations to the Operations team by utilizing the following (not limited to but including); budget and financial analysis, cost analysis, process documentation, inventory/product analysis and quality control to optimize and reconfigure Operations processes including but not limited to warehouse procedures, workflows, space utilization and throughput.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: The employee must be proficient in written and verbal communication in English. A Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, information systems, or similar discipline is desired, with 3-5 years of work experience within a related setting such as Manufacturing, Logistics, and/or Warehousing. The employee must be at an expert level with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access), with particular fluency in Excel formulas and modeling.Experience with financial reporting, modeling, data mining, or other business analytics is required. Experience with ERP systems, Oracle experience is preferred. The ability to be an independent and creative thinker with the ability to consider qualitative and quantitative factors when analyzing complex business issues is needed to successfully perform this job as well as an ability to work proactively with team members and management throughout the company.

Work Environment: The work environment is indoors. The floors may be concrete, vinyl or carpeted in an interior office. The employee may be exposed to variable temperatures from the three different product climates (dry, cold, and freezer). Moderate noise levels occur in the warehouse with powered industrial truck horns operating for safety.

Work Hours: The work schedule is 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. Time of initial start may vary with work hours typically 8am-5pm. Work hours and shifts are subject to change depending on operating business conditions and needs. The employee may be required to work overtime and holidays or weekends.

Physical and Mental Demands: Sedentary. Exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. This job also requires constant sitting. Constant use of the upper extremities is required to reach, handle, grasp and use desk tools, paperwork, files and operate computer systems. The employee must know and follow proper office and safety protocols; know and follow DPI's grooming, hygiene and dress code standards; advanced knowledge of vendor and broker commissions, and generally accepted accounting and finance principles, procedures and protocols is required. Able to perform mathematic functions and analyses and use writing skills to accomplish designated functions. Excellent ability to manage time, multiple daily, weekly and bi-weekly activities as well as monthly, quarterly and annual activities and audits.
