ConvergeHEALTH – DevOps Application Engineer

Work you'll do


Responsible for developing and building IT solutions, AppOps Engineers work with application developers and DevOps Engineers to deeply understand the operational requirements of applications while in development to prepare those applications for production support, translate technical requirements for application configuration to repeatable automation, assist with all stages of test data and automated testing, develop interface stubs and simulators and perform script maintenance and updates.


AppOps Engineers build automated configuration for applications through the use of configuration management technology. They assist with deployment and testing of new modules and upgrades and complete fixes within the production environment. Another duty is to make modules ready for production, which entails developing pipeline testing requirements, identifying critical system functionality to be supported, and scalability requirements according to specific procedures and documenting knowledge transfer.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting

Routine application maintenance tasks are an ongoing responsibility of AppOps Engineers that they accomplish via strategy-building techniques. They also help create requirements and procedures for implementing routine maintenance. Troubleshooting existing information systems for errors, bugs, performance concerns and resolving those issues is also a main responsibility of AppOps Engineers.




· Programming experience with Java or Python, JavaScript or PERL (or other relevant programming language is a must)

· Experience with different database types - RDS and NoSQL

  • Good hands-on knowledge of source code management (version control system) tools like Git and Subversion, specifically around large multi-project / multi pipeline environments
  • Proficient in developing Continuous Integration/ Delivery pipelines. Experience with automation/ integration tools like Jenkins and Concourse
  • Good knowledge of major cloud service providers, like AWS, Azure etc., specifically around microservices and functions as a service
  • Strong understanding around configuring, managing and supporting applications using tools such as OpsWorks, Datadog and CloudWatch on AWS
  • Hands-on knowledge of software containerization platforms like Docker and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes and Docker Swarm
  • Hands-on experience with writing pipeline CI tests
  • Hands-on experience with ELK, distributed tracing software, identifying log files for critical system information and levering the mentioned tools to resolve issues, bugs, problems.


  • Skilled with tools for managing application pipeline testing, code scanning, code coverage, code sanitation.
  • Hands on experience around application performance optimization.
  • Hands on experience with distributed tracing and developing self-healing application methods
  • Location preference: Boston
  • 20-50% travel
