We're looking for someone to join our Caremark (Pharmacy Services Segment) Finance team who will improve financial results within our Aetna Health Care Business and Enterprise Accounts Divisions. You will lead teams that support needs related to understanding client profitability at both an individual client level (by line of business) and aggregations of clients. Activities the role will participate in: validating budget/forecast assumptions, understanding drivers of variances to budgets, participation in new business and renewal pricing decisions, working to improve client based financial outcomes and consolidated financial reporting.
You will use your experience with Health Plans and Employers that are custom in their approach to pharmacy benefit services – complex pricing arrangements, custom formularies, clinical programs, channel solutions, and integrated benefit designs. You will work with internal partners such as Sales and Account Management, Trade, Networks, IT and Product Development. You will work with other teams to develop an understanding of their business and goals and to assist with solutions that increase revenue and profitability.
This Sr. Director will manage a division P&L by understanding and supporting organizational financial budgeting, forecasting and close processes. You will create an organizational culture with sound financial and governance throughout all procedures.
You will maintain expert knowledge of the health insurance industry, PBM industry, current/latest medical and pharmacy trend management strategies, current/latest enterprise offerings, CVS Caremark data warehouse, drivers of enterprise revenue/profitability and health plan client revenue/profitability. You will have a record of building inspired teams of knowledge-based employees with the technical skills to contribute to the goals of the department.
You will also have a track record that shows the following abilities: developing strategic plans, working in a cross-matrix environment, adapting and performing in an evolving environment, developing a comprehensive understanding of CVS Caremark's enterprise assets, developing an understanding of our goals, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction, and applying clinical expertise to make informed recommendations and decisions.
These teams will support client profit improvement programs and targets, monthly dashboards and performance tracking, pricing decision support, and variance ad-hoc analysis to help Sr. leaders make better, more informed decisions to increase profitability and growth. The goal is to support and empower senior sales, underwriting and finance leaders with tools and knowledge that will allow them to run and grow the business, respond to unexpected financial impacts as it evolves and becomes increasingly more complicated.

• 5+ experience in matrix large company and work across organizational lines
• Develop solutions to help improve financial outcomes for customers and books of business
• Travel up to 25%.
• 15+ years of financial professional experience, preferable within a PBM or Health Plan
• Expert knowledge of internal underwriting and pricing models to approve client financial offerings that maintain the highest levels of accuracy in forecasting
• Experience building motivated teams of knowledge-based employees with the clinical knowledge and technical skills to contribute to the goals of your team
• Track record that shows the following abilities: developing strategic plans, working in a cross-matrix environment, adapting and performing in an evolving environment, developing a comprehensive understanding of CVS Caremark's and Aetna HP's enterprise assets
• Bachelor's degree preferably in Finance or Accounting
• Master's degree preferred
