StaRN Plus Labor and Delivery Training Program - Positions Available at Various HCA Houston FacilitiesHCA Healthcare is dedicated to the growth and development of our colleagues. This StaRN NICU Transition Program provides a comprehensive blended program that bridges the nursing practice gap for experienced RNs transitioning into the NICU specialty. Open to internal and external candidates. We will provide you the tools and resources you need to succeed in our organization. Program Starts: 5/8/2023
Attendance is imperative and all days are required to remain in the program. No days can be missed. The program is facilitated by HealthTrust (part of the HCA family).
16-Week training:
Six (6) weeks of interactive classroom discussions, case studies, hands-on skills training, and simulations with experienced StaRN clinical instructors.
Ten (10) weeks of unit-based clinical preceptorship

AHA Basic Life Support / Advanced Cardiac Life Support
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
S.T.A.B.L.E. Certification
Basic Dysrhythmia
Meditech and CPN (EHR) hands-on training
Labor and Delivery medication management
TeamSTEPPS training
AIDET, SBAR, Patient Experience, and more
AWHONN Perinatal Orientation Education Program (POEP) Core Curriculum:
Online lessons covering a wide range of topics relevant to Labor and Delivery Nursing
Hands-on Labor and Delivery skills training, that includes but not limited to:
Electronic Fetal Monitoring
Managing Post- Partum Hemorrhage
Epidural Pump Management
Obstetrics High Risk Medication
APGAR/Bishop Score
Five Days of high-fidelity simulation:
Labor and Delivery - specific scenarios
Comprehensive facilitated video debriefing
