Director of Pharmacy - Full Time
As a full time, exempt Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS) Director of Pharmacy, you will manage and direct the activities of the of the Pharmacy. Develop, implement, and monitor compliance with departmental policies and procedures. Maintain a system of staff development and evaluation to ensure compliance with regulatory issues and to promote optimal patient care. Develop and maintain a system of financial and inventory control according to hospital standards, including preparation, submission and administration of an annual departmental budget. Directs departmental participation in various hospital committees to ensure appropriate representation (including, but not limited to, Infection Control Committee, Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, Safety Committee).
Schedule: This Full Time position will work 40 hours per week, 8 hour shifts, Monday-Friday 7:30AM-4PM. On call required.
About the Facility: Sturgis Hospital is a 84-bed licensed, acute care facility providing services to general Medical & surgical; orthopedics patients. Nearly 40 active Medical Staff members, available within the Sturgis and surrounding communities, represent a wide variety of specialties including Anesthesiology, Family Practice, General Surgery, Gynecology, Internal Medicine, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Pathology, Pediatrics, Podiatry, Radiology, Urology and Vascular Surgery. Additional specialties are offered through the Hospital's Courtesy, Consulting and Affiliate Medical Staff members. These services include Cardiology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Oncology, and Pulmonary medicine.
About the Pharmacy: The centralized pharmacy utilizes Meditech, Omnicel dispensing with CSM in the Pharmcay. The pharmacy is open Monday-Friday 8AM-4PM and utilizes Physician Order Entry, Ominicell & Meditech
- BS or PharmD from an accredited school of Pharmacy
- MI Pharmacist licensure in good standing in the state of Michigan.
- Management experience in a healthcare/hospital environment.
- Ability to solve problems, establish trust and credibility.
- Demonstrated teaching, relevant professional publications and involvement with Professional organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, respond to client concerns and work cooperatively with other staff.
Hospital requirements: Hospital orientation, Annual TB, Flu shot, & standard competencies.
