The Role

Looking for an individual with experience in telecommunications services operations and testing to support the Lumen Test Equipment Standards program. Candidate would be familiar with test and acceptance standards for Consumer and Business services over Copper and Fiber, to include High Speed Internet Ethernet and gigabit ethernet services, design services and transmission line testing. This position will coordinate the approval of testing standards and requirements for telecommunications services, manage field trials of vendor test equipment and upgrades proposed. This position will manage the test equipment inventory program, which includes tracking, budget forecasting, life cycle management, and efforts to maximize efficient use of test equipment inventories.


The Main Responsibilities
  • Work in the Field Operations Support environment with a goal of standardizing and optimizing test equipment inventories and tools.
  • Work closely with the Vendors and Field Operations Subject Matter experts to coordinate trials to evaluate test equipment and tools.
  • Formulate test equipment trial test plans and formulate results and make sourcing recommendations
  • Manage Test equipment Firmware and Software Standard profiles
  • Work with Tool and Test equipment vendors
  • Develop data analysis and process to optimize field test equipment inventory and return unused test sets for redistribution.
  • Track test equipment inventory reporting to reflect tech field inventory additions, transfers, retirements
  • Perform inventory database and equipment life cycle analysis to enable strategic placement of Test Equipment to reduce cost and optimize annual budget forecasting.

  • Technical expertise (process, test equipment, telecommunications, etc)
  • SharePoint experience - building and maintain SharePoint sites (beyond posting documents)
  • Microsoft Power Applications
