Central Garden & Pet is searching for someone like you who will handle all activities associated with daily cash management, but also serve as an analytical expert, providing focused modeling and analysis to support decisions on corporate strategy and financial decisions based on competitive analysis, shareholder value creation and the external perspective. You will also be responsible for helping out with other Treasury and finance projects including, but not limited to: assisting in analyses of prospective investments or acquisitions, supporting requirements associated with the company's capital structure, and strategic planning.

Treasury/Cash Management

  • Perform and lead daily cash management activities and continually analyze the corporate controlled bank account structure for efficiency and accuracy
  • Administer banking profiles and access for online users of portal and internet banking
  • Troubleshoot transaction issues with business units and shared service center
  • Provide interest expense/income, transaction information, foreign exchange validation, bank statements, etc. for month and quarter close
  • Monitor treasury/banking trends, accommodate dynamic banking needs by evaluating and implementing new treasury products
  • Support maintenance of banking relationships and arrangement of financing activities
  • Provide support for corporate P-card and ePayables programs


  • Provide Senior Management with focused financial models and analysis which support decision making for existing business and investment/acquisition targets
  • Prepare cash forecasts and analyze trends on a companywide basis
  • Key backup resource on support of the company's debt structure and revolving credit facilities, including but not limited to building models that analyze compliance with financial covenants and understanding the calculations involved in arriving at the company's credit capacity
  • Work with business units and shared service center in support of cash conversion cycle to improve the company's cash flow
  • Conduct special financial and business related studies and projects as requeste


  • Work with various business partners across the organization in order to ensure consistency in analysis of various corporate finance initiatives
  • Lead and participate in special projects and initiatives to improve and enhance current financial/cash processes


Education Requirement and Years of Experience:

  • BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, or business related field
  • A minimum of 2-5 years experience in corporate finance, investment banking, or a comparable position is required
  • Exceptional analytical expertise/skills. Skillful at unearthing data and translating complex assumptions/business requirements into financial models and what if analysis

Technical Skills/Experience Required:

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong written, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency using Excel, Power Point, and Word
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with various levels of management
  • Excellent time management skills for coordination of multiple projects
  • Strong organizational skills
