Performs angiographic and interventional as well as general radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures on all types of patients in an efficient and caring manner in order to provide data for the diagnosis of a wide variety of medical conditions.
Evaluates exams for diagnostic quality while using professional judgment in the performance of services. Responsibilities:
Effectively and safely operates all imaging and related medical (patient monitoring & support) equipment to complete a variety of invasive and other special procedures.
Produces acceptable images by selecting appropriate exposure factors, time sequences and patient positioning.
Fulfills duties of “scrub assistant” to assist physician during procedures, following proper sterile technique, catheter & guidewire manipulation, etc.
Follows all radiation protection and radiation safety policies.
Prepares, assists, and administers (as appropriate) contrast media under the direction of a physician. Properly loads and operates automatic injector.
Effectively uses computer systems (such as HIS, RIS, PACS) to process, access and distribute appropriate department and patient procedure information.
Assists in transportation of patients to and from the department.
Participates in providing education and information to patients and their families.
Participates in clinical training of radiology students by providing instruction, supervision and evaluation as required.
Assumes “call status” as necessary during off hours for emergency procedures.
Assumes role of radiographer as needed.Participates in quality assurance/quality control activities as required.
Performs other functions as assigned. Qualifications:
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (or equivalent) in the appropriate specialty (radiography) and licensed by the State of Ohio in Radiology.
Possess a minimum of 2 years experience as a radiographer.
Competence in all diagnostic radiographic and special procedures.
CPR Certified Additional Info:
One position is 60 hours/pp(this is full-time and eligible for all benefits), 6:30a – 5p, M-F
Will only work Cath Lab (not required to float to EP Lab, etc.)
Six (6) days of call for a 6-week schedule. The call is after hours and weekends.
Ohio Radiographer license and ARRT required
11 other SPTs work in the Cath Lab
Surgical/Cath Lab space is new; opened in 2015; one of the first facilities in Ohio to do TVAR.
Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience starting at $23.00 pr hour and up, $4K Sign-on bonus, and a great benefits package including relocation assistance.
