POSITION SUMMARY:

The Safety Admin/Clerk will be responsible for activities which support the Safety area of the organization. This will include operational planning and any other tasks as assigned.

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:

  • Track Manager Safety Accountability, unsafe conditions, incidents, near misses, and recordables.

  • Maintain Safety training records such as, LOTO, PIT, confined space, contractor training, and Pre-Start Up Safety Inspections.

  • Maintain the OSHA 300/301 Logs.

  • Maintain inventory of LOTO locks, assemble locks and tags for Lockout trained team members.

  • Compile reports, distribute monthly safety topics, trend analysis, update SDS books, prepare safety presentation material, correct or report on safety data discrepancies.

  • Prepare, maintain and update files, including providing desktop publishing and graphical support for the preparation and updating of a variety of safety program materials and manuals.

  • Process purchase order requisitions and department invoices, order safety, medical and office supplies.

  • Manage Fourwinds and Content Manager for digital signage, and SharePoint Raeford Safety site.

  • Operations support - prepare reports for Complex Manager, oven reports, update MOS, verify inventory, Reason 3 reporting, and schedule posting.

  • Retrieve security footage for department managers

  • Assist with Audiometric testing and maintain spreadsheet for nurse.

  • Assist Team Members with Worker's Compensation mileage.

  • Attend Site Safety Meetings, and Supervisors meetings.

  • Backup for Front Office Administrative Assistant

  • Assist with data for SHARP Team meetings

  • Reset PIT equipment using Speed Shield

  • Assist with the planning of Safety and Plant events

  • Maintaining files of documents used and prepared.

  • Other duties that may be assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

The Safety Admin/Clerk will function in an industrial environment and will be exposed to cold/damp conditions. Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

  • 2-3 years of experience in a clerical role required

  • Regular attendance is an essential function of the job

  • Possess high ethical standards and demonstrate professionalism

  • Exhibit ability to work independently or in a team-based, highly collaborative environment

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) to perform functional activities such as data entry, data verification, creation of forms, etc.

  • Must be knowledgeable with faxing, copying, printing, emailing

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Previous experience in industrial manufacturing preferred

  • Experience in AS400, SAP, Kronos preferred
