We're looking for a systems administrator who specializes in managing infrastructure with a solid background in Linux administration to help the Office of Business Informatics (OBI) for the client
As a systems administrator on our project, you'll ensure the current infrastructure is functional and available and constantly look for ways to make the infrastructure better using the latest technology and the best implementation strategies. You'll provide your customers insight into their network through monitoring and performance management. Your technical expertise will be vital as you identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical network. You'll help your team better understand the network by turning metrics into information and explaining their meaning. This is an opportunity to broaden your skillset into areas like automation and cloud computing as the client evolves from on-prem data centers to the Cloud. We focus on growing as a team, so you'll share your expertise through leadership and mentoring as you help the team-work through challenges and develop new methodologies. As a technical leader, you'll identify new opportunities to modernize the network to help your customers meet their needs. -6+ years of experience with IT infrastructure engineering
-Experience with installing and configuring Windows domains and scripting in PowerShell
-Experience with setting up virtual infrastructure and configuring Linux servers and VMware
-Public Trust clearance
-BA or BS degree or 10+ years of experience with engineering in the military in lieu of a degree
Nice If You Have:
-Experience with setting up virtual infrastructure using Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware ESXI and configuring Linux servers
-Experience with hardening Windows servers, Linux servers, and VMware using DoD STIGs
-Experience with analyzing network traffic with tools, including Wireshark or TCPDump
-Experience with installing, upgrading, and maintaining applications residing on servers
-Experience with data-at-rest principles, including software full disk encryption, file encryption, platform encryption, and hardware full disk encryption
-Experience with implementing certificate-based encryption on network devices
-Ability to initiate, manage, execute, and report tasks independently
-BA or BS degree in a technical field
-VMware Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Solution Developer, or a related Certification preferred
