Architect and Interior Designer, Mid

Key Role:

Research, plan, design, and administer building projects while applying expertise in design, construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials. Consult with customers to determine the functional and spatial requirements of a new structure or renovation. Prepare designs, specifications, materials, color, equipment, estimated costs, and construction time data. Plan layouts of project and integrate engineering elements into unified design, prepare scale drawings and contracts for contractors, and conduct observations of work during construction to monitor compliance with specifications. Apply expertise in technical work, develop technical solutions to complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity, and guide the successful completion of major programs and may function in a project leadership role. Represent the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects. Interact with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.

Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with performing architectural surveys, collecting requirements, and interfacing with government project managers, building maintenance contractors, or general contractors

-Experience in assisting with design reviews of government projects and developing high-level cost for construction using historical and research data

-Ability to communicate well at all organizational levels

-Ability to obtain a security clearance 

-HS diploma or GED
