PURPOSE/DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS The Chief Compliance and Integrity Officer functions as the chief compliance and integrity#officer for the organization. This position acts as staff to the CEO and Audit # Compliance Committee of the Board by serving as the architect and steward of the organization#s compliance strategy, structure and processes. As the compliance leader and subject matter expert, the Chief Compliance and Integrity Officer reports regularly to senior management and the Committee of the Board to provide reasonable assurance the organization maintains an effective compliance program that prevents, detects and corrects noncompliance with applicable laws and regulations. The position also oversees administrative functions and processes related to all system-wide policies and procedures. # # # ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Essential Job Functions ##The Chief Compliance and Integrity Officer will take time to build and maintain the trust and confidence of the executive team, board members, and other constituencies as it relates to compliance. ##This position will review and appropriately revise policies and procedures for general operation around compliance to ensure best practice in our challenged health care environment and complex organization. ##Find new ways for business integration regarding compliance by educating and linking different groups and functions to ensure the implementation of policies, strategies and programs across the organization. ##The Chief Compliance and Integrity Officer must embody Billings Clinic#s five key leadership expectations: strong connection and dedication to the Billings Clinic#s mission; a focus on teamwork; maintaining transparency by inviting others into the work; personal and professional accountability, and a sense of urgency in prioritizing and accomplishing strategic objectives. ##Oversight of the compliance plan and program, covering the full range of complex regulatory requirements including billing and coding, privacy and information security, conflicts of interest, anti-kickback and physician self-referral, research integrity, and others. ###Maintains and revises the Billings Clinic code of conduct as well as policies and procedures for the general operation of the compliance program and its related activities. ###Oversees ongoing risk assesements, department work plans, and proactive auditing and monitoring, identifies priorities, assists with developing and implementing corrective action plans, and provides general guidance and recommendations. ###Develops and manages a robust compliance training and education program for staff and Board. ###Reports on a regular basis and, as directed or requested, keeps the Audit # Compliance Committee of the Board informed of significant compliance issues, risks, and mitigation ###Promotes a culture with effective lines of communication, including the ability to communicatecompliance issues. ###Maintains current knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and other regulations thatimpact the business and addresses new and emerging requirements. ###Partners with internal and external legal counsel. # # Supports and models behaviors consistent with Billings Clinic#s mission, vision, values, code of business conduct and service expectations. Meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements. Preferred Graduate Degree in healthcare, economics, business or other managerial disciplines, or law degree # # Years Of Experience Minimum Years of Experience Comments 10 of progressive executive leadership in healthcare compliance having clearly demonstrated a combination of vision and energy with a solid track record of achievement in healthcare compliance. # # # # # Other Minimum Qualifications ##Ability to quickly grasp the mission, purpose, regulatory and other complexities, and trends unique to the healthcare industry.
