Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Security Specialist to serve as the Facility Security Officer (FSO) supporting the Integrated Defense Systems Business Unit of the Intelligence & Security (I&S) Sector in the Fayetteville, NC area. This position reports to the Operations Director and oversees 100 personnel clearances, develops, administers and audits the security program for compliance with government regulations associated with the protection of classified material and export-controlled data.

The candidate must be a motivated self-starter and demonstrate exceptional communication (verbal and written) skills. The candidate will overcome organizational challenges to accomplish demanding activities in a fast-paced SOF operational tempo. The position requires direct, clear, and timely communication with project managers and military leaders on a daily basis. The candidate must demonstrate exacting attention to detail and simultaneously maintain a top-level perspective to ensure overall project success.

Must have a working knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Security Executive Agent Directive (SEAD), and Intelligence Community Directives (ICD)s. Must be customer service oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

The following duties are typical of the position.

  1. Document control
  2. NATO briefings
  3. Access control
  4. Alarm tests
  5. New hire orientation and badging
  6. Ensure compliance with DoD policies, government regulations and related safeguarding requirements for Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) sites.
  7. Develop briefs and/or reports on the status of the program.
  8. Liaison with customers and other contractors while ensuring continuity with Director of Programs.
  9. Initiate corrective action to support task problems and failures.

This position is off site and supports project team and customer in greater Fayetteville, NC area.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Experience as a successful leader within the security community.
  • Experience representing an organization with external entities.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communications skills.
  • Experience in all aspects of security to include physical, industrial, and Controlled Information (CI).
  • Extensive knowledge of the NISPOM, SEAD's, and ICD's.
  • Experience with Defense Industrial Security System (DISS)).
  • Current Top Secret clearance and be able to maintain a TS/SCI clearance.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • ISP Certification
  • FSO Certification
  • Experience with various security tools (e.g. NISS, SWFT, SIMS)
  • Experience with COMSEC
  • Experience with Special Access Programs (SAP)
  • Experience with a FOCI company

This position is contingent hire in 4Q 2022 for contract start date anticipated for December 2022.
