As a Security Specialist should possess strong observational skills, and be able to interact with all levels of personnel and management, as well as some high ranking Military officials. This individual should display a professional and positive attitude and appearance at all times, as their interaction with employees and visitors occurs both in person, as well as via telephone. The Security Specialist will operate as a security expert and administer security guidelines per government policy. Other responsibilities of the job include visitor control, badging, briefings, debriefings and employee education shall also apply.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Administers Physical Security protocols for classified/proprietary materials, documents, and equipment. Implements federal security regulations that apply to company operations. Prepares manuals outlining regulations, and establishes procedures for handling, storing, and keeping records, and for granting personnel and visitors access to restricted records and materials. Investigates security violations and prepares reports specifying preventive action to be taken. Must have the ability to change GSA safe combinations and be knowledgeable of UL2050 requirements. Proficient at navigating government portals such as DISS, NISS and NCAISS are required. Candidate must also be able to serve as COMSEC custodian.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Some college and 2 years' work experience or equivalent experience. Preferred TS clearance with a minimum of Secret.
