Job Description
BAE Systems Inc., Ground Vehicles division is currently looking to add an Assistant Program Manager (APM) to help lead the management of the Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle (AMPV) Development portfolio. As a lifecycle manager for AMPV Development, which includes work on both EMD and STS contracts, the APM will be directly responsible for a portion of the AMPV Development scope. The APM will ensure the assigned scope of work is completed while meeting design/performance requirements and delivering within cost and schedule constraints. In addition, you will be responsible for managing changes and modifications to the design and ensuring resulting changes meet all program requirements and are executed in a manner that enables cut-ins to Production. The position will report to the AMPV Program Manager for Development.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelors Degree and 8 years of relevant work experience.

Candidates must possess strong working knowledge of current US Army weapon systems, force concepts/structure with emphasis on Armored Brigade Combat Team systems.

Demonstrated leadership skills in development of project proposals, with the ability to work across functional boundaries and build a team are required.

Expert knowledge in Earned Value Management.

Experience in managing technical baseline and contract changes.

Ability to lead cross-functional teams and coordinate with peers across functional boundaries to develop solutions to complex problems that satisfy multiple stakeholders.

Ability to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control and close projects.

Ability to hire, develop, motivate, direct, and retain staff.

Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and delegate.

Ability to identify, manage and mitigate risk.

Ability to plan strategically.

Ability to effectively represent the Company / Program(s).

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Ability to effectively manage interpersonal relations and conflicts.

Ability to use objectivity, creativity, and analytical ability to solve problems.

Extensive experience with MS Office products.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Extensive experience with US Army product development, production, and fielding processes.

Experience with US Army Programs management.

Association with organizations for project management (e.g. Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or similar).

Lean Experience.

Master's Degree.
