As a manufacturing shift supervisor you will be an integral member of the leadership team to manage and supervise the manufacturing operations of the new Nitrocellulose Manufacturing Facility at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant. The successful individual support the operation of the newly constructed facility during plant commissioning and into enduring operations. The shift supervisor ensures that the work performed is in accordance with all applicable safety and operational policies and procedures. Responsibilities include the management of labor and resources within manufacturing operations, working in partnership with support groups such as safety, quality, environmental, maintenance, etc. to meet departmental objectives and customer deliveries. As a supervisor you will work closely with operators, engineers, and maintenance staff to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues or escalate issues as needed to drive operational execution and meet performance goals.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or a combined of 8 years of leadership manufacturing experience
Experience in manufacturing operations, large industrial, (hazardous material is highly preferred)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrable leadership experience and ability to work successfully in a team environment
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Proficient in MS Office applications
Workforce leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience with a unionized workforce
Previous work experience with hazardous materials or chemical processes
Familiarity with automated control systems in and manufacturing environment
