The Contract Administrator role is a great introduction to the business world, providing the successful applicant with an insight into how we evaluate new business opportunities, craft proposals, negotiate contracts and manage contracts in a way that keeps the company compliant and profitable.
The role is focused on day-to-day administration, including documentation reviews, order entry, modifications and closeouts, but the successful applicant will have a lot of opportunities to understand the broader workings of the business. The position is designed to be the first step in a defined Contracts career path at BAE Systems.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Entry-level Contracts position. Must possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, such as working in an administrative function for a business, nonprofit etc.
Must be able to:
1. Exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of duties;
2. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
3. Exhibit sound interpersonal skills;
4. Utilize computer skills to prepare appropriate reports and documents;
5. Make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations; and
6. Develop/demonstrate research and presentation skills.
