Job Description
The Supply Chain Manager II (SCM) is a strong leader with demonstrated supply chain and project management skills. This SCM will lead the Lexington Business Center Supply Chain Planning team of the Precision Strike (PS3) Business Area. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of the planning processes and supply chain strategies required for successful operation of both a commercial and a mil-aerospace environment. A successful history of leading supply chain teams from strategy development, through implementation and sustainment is critical in this role. This SCM position interfaces regularly with senior leaders from programs, manufacturing operations, engineering, quality, finance, global sourcing and suppliers. The Manager of Supply Chain for Lexington will create and drive progressive processes and systems to support the growth of the Business Area and Business Center goals and objectives. The incumbent will also create, coordinate and implement highly effective material and supply chain planning strategies, while work cross-functionally with Procurement, Commodity Management and Logistics to satisfy customer requirements and company objectives. The SCM will work collaboratively with other Business Area and Sector Supply Chain Managers to develop and incorporate best practices across the organization. Proposal activities will be supported on an as needed basis. This manager will support the supply chain transition from the design and development stage through production and will participate appropriately on cross-functional teams whose mission is to ensure that BAE is improving overall supplier performance, including Zero Defects. All duties must be executed utilizing established and approved procurement and planning policies and procedures. This Supply Chain leader will also provide support for all supply chain personnel attached to the Lexington Business Center regardless of formal reporting structure. The SCM will perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelor's Degree with at least ten (10) years of procurement, planning, material management, subcontract or related experience managing suppliers, costs, schedules and quality attributes
  • Experience leading the supply chain for Department of Defense Programs
  • Significant experience with supply chain processes, policies and tools
  • The ability to evaluate program supply chain needs and develop integrated and detailed supply chain plans including material planning and strategy, risk mitigation, production planning and material presentation is required
  • Capable of analyzing, evaluating, developing and implementing processes and systems within budget while adhering to time requirements and schedule is required
  • Experience formulating and communicating program requirements and a history of developing and leading high performance teams is essential
  • Exhibit sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating and negotiating with company personnel, customers and suppliers
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of duties. Make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to obtain a secret clearance
  • U. S. Citizenship status is required

Preferred Skills and Education
  • Supply Chain Certification such as APICS CSCP or CPIM
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certified
  • Strong Financial and Business Acumen
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or Operations
Master's Degree in Engineering and/or Business Administration
