Description

Adecco is currently assisting a local mental health center, recruiting for a Patient Accounts Representative in the Portsmouth, NH area! This role is a temp-to-hire opportunity, pay negotiable based on experience.

Schedule – Monday – Friday, flexible hours – 37.5 Hour Week, 7.5 Hour Days

Responsibilities:

  • Follow-up on past-due accounts
  • Monitoring the aging of receivables and engaging in the collections process to avoid write offs of services performed.
  • Identifying and communicating trends that require attention and additional resources
  • Participating in the monthly closing cycle to ensure timely, complete, and accurate billing cycles.
  • Providing feedback to supervisor and other team members when monitoring of the aging reveals process improvements and/or training support needs.
  • Working in partnership with program staff to ensure processes and procedures are in place to facilitate timely collection of services rendered
  • Engage with all stakeholders in a collaborative and professional manner including payor and state representatives, program staff and leadership, and patients.
  • Maintain working knowledge of payor requirements for accurate and timely billing.  Serve as a resource for other Billing team members.
  • Investigate and identify problem accounts
  • Verify client benefits
  • Correct claim errors for resubmission
  • Answering inquiries by phone
  • Assisting Client's with account balance and payments
  • Document all activity in the EHR database
  • Act as back up for posting of insurance payments and self-pay payments
  • Etc.
  • Skills/Education:

  • 2 or more years of experience with Medical Billing standards, procedures and accounts receivable software required
  • 3rd Party follow-up experience
  • 2-3 years of experience working with Insurances
  • Accounting
  • Manual Refunds
  • Pleasant telephone manner
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
