Our client specializes in custom consumer goods products. The Manufacturing Manager will report directly to the CEO of this fast growing family owned and operated business. The Manufacturing Manager Job will be responsible for providing the leadership and guidance to successfully manage the day to day Manufacturing, Production and Logistics. This position is directly responsible for the mentoring and coaching of its staff to achieve the company goals of profitability, on time delivery, inventory accountability, supply chain management and effective planning. Maintaining lean operations and just-in-time delivery to reduce waste, lower cost and assure customer satisfaction is paramount to this position. The Director of Operations is responsible for the safety of all operational personnel, maintaining a clean and organized work environment and providing leadership by example. This person must be a strong- hands on problem solver with excellent organizational skills and possess the ability to prioritize the work to meet the corporate objectives. This position works closely with other cross functional support teams, Production, Sales, Art, Quality, and Finance to meet the immediate and annual goals while fostering continuous improvement and ensuring the company is living up to its core values,
Responsibilities: Demonstrate leadership consistent with FPS's principals and core values. Provide guidance to ensure the Operations department is executing according to the corporate plan. Take ownership of productivity and work quality to achieve efficiency, accuracy and timeliness. Drive individuals and the team toward continuous improvement in key operational metrics (On Time Deliveries, Inventory Control, Supplier selection, Machine Shop Output, Technology Center Production and effective Planning. Utilize shop ERP software to maximize efficiencies produce effective reporting and control costs. Manage activities for effective production scheduling including assumptions, material flow and deliveries to achieve just-in-time performance. Identify creative ways to reduce cost and raise performance levels. Lead departmental meetings to effectively organize and communicate actions and plans Must be a TEAM PLAYER.
QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent communication skills: listening, verbal and written. Strong ability to manage to a timeline; meeting deadlines while managing multiple projects Position requires high level of critical thinking and problem solving. Experience in Lean Manufacturing principles, preferred Background in running Operations for an OEM Manufacturer, preferred Must possess very good organizational skills with the ability to multi-task on a daily basis. Excellent reasoning and decision-making ability. Data driven individual.
Education and Experience: Minimum BS degree, MS preferred. 3-5+ years working as Operations Manager in a manufacturing environment or similar experience. 3-5+ years Management experience. Have working knowledge of knitwear garment construction, textiles, sublimation is a plus but not required Understanding of patternmaking and garment construction is a plus, but not required Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is a plus, but not required
