Reg Shift M-F 8:00AM – 5:00PM

Lab Aide positions require candidates to be responsible for working in the development labs, using analytical equipment and running characterization assays to develop new chemistry, materials, and reagents for the company's proprietary sequencing and genotyping platforms.

Other responsibilities for these Lab Aide positions include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct laboratory work under general direction of supervisor
  • Recognize potential problems, understand, and troubleshoot assays
  • Assess information to ensure data sufficiency and completeness of results
  • Help write experimental protocols, summaries, and reports
  • Work with the team to develop custom consumables and reagents that are used in company's proprietary sequencing and genotyping array platforms.
  • Complete standard and custom assays measuring key performance metrics of such reagents.
  • Execute inventory control of reagents, chemicals, and supplies using proper labeling and computerized systems.
  • Maintain general lab organization of lab supplies, equipment, and reagents.
  • Candidates must meet the following requirements to be considered for these Lab Aide positions:

  • Good knowledge of standard molecular biology/nucleic acid-based protocols for DNA, especially fluorescence-based methods
  • Experience in analytical biochemical and biophysical characterization of biomolecules and bio-materials
  • Experience in automated lab robotics such as liquid handlers highly desirable
  • Solid understanding of scientific principles
  • Excellent laboratory, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, ability to implement protocols and keep good notes in a lab notebook
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience with robotics a plus
  • Experiences in one or more of these instruments highly desired:
    - liquid chromatography system (HPLC, FPLC)
    - fluorescence spectrometer / plate reader
    - flow cytometer
    - optical / fluorescence microscope imaging system
