Position Overview

Are you a skilled sales professional with a passion and proven track record for coaching and developing others? Do you just get "it", and have a knack for helping others get to those light bulb moments? Join us as a Sales Coach & Trainer and play a key role in helping our Design Consultants (DCs) thrive.

In this impactful position, you'll work closely with our district leadership and the training team to strengthen sales soft skills, product knowledge, and process execution of our Design Consultant workforce. You'll lead team sessions, provide hands-on coaching through ride-alongs, and deliver targeted feedback to help DCs grow. We'll support your development with collaborative training and resources—so you can keep growing as a leader while helping others succeed.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct ride-alongs with new and existing DCs, providing specific, actionable feedback and coaching focused on enhancing selling skills and communication, rapport building, objection handling, active listening, and presentation skills.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to individual reps or small groups to reinforce training, address performance issues, and help them improve their skills. This might involve call reviews, shadowing, and personalized feedback.
  • Support DCs' success by reviewing training items and coaching them on sales opportunities that arise during client appointments, specifically addressing soft skill application.
  • Provide the District Sales Manager (DSM) with accurate, substantive, and timely written and verbal feedback, including observations on soft skill development and areas for improvement in the field.
  • Help instill good habits in new DCs that contribute to their overall success, including time management, adherence to sales processes, and timely communication with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Regularly gather feedback from DCs, sales leadership, and other stakeholders to understand challenges, identify knowledge gaps, and determine resource needs.
  • Ensure focus on First Time Right, by conducting (FTR) reviews across the district.
  • Deliver sales training and maintain content libraries to provide real-time support to our Design Consultant team.

Who You Are

  • Exceptional Coaching & Mentoring Skills: Demonstrated ability to provide constructive feedback, motivate individuals, and foster a positive learning environment.
  • Strong Interpersonal & Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and build strong relationships.
  • Sales Acumen: Well-defined relationship-based service skills and a proven customer service orientation.
  • Adaptability & Resourcefulness: Strong ability to manage competing priorities in a timely manner, multi-task within a fast-paced and dynamic environment, and learn quickly.
  • Organizational Skills: Well-organized with meticulous attention to detail and consistent follow-through.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work independently while also engaging successfully as a team player.
  • Product Knowledge: Demonstrate strong product knowledge and be a resource for new and veteran Design Consultants in the field.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with Microsoft Windows based platforms such as Word and Outlook.
  • Mobility: In this role you will be expected to travel 50-60%. Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and proof of insurance are required. Ability to both travel overnight and commute daily; approved travel-related expenses are reimbursed, and a per diem is provided for overnight stays.
  • Physical Requirements: Can lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
  • Education & Experience:
    • High school degree or equivalent is required.
    • 2-year college degree in a related discipline preferred.
    • 2 years of facilitating training experience preferred.
    • 3-5 years of retail or in-home sales support experience preferred.
    • Experience within the window treatment industry preferred.
